The Communication and Media Specialist will act as the Communication Focal Point of the countries where the projects have been implemented under King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Program in the South Asia and Central Asia, ensuring alignment and the delivery of consistent, high-quality communication and visibility of the donor.
This role encompasses:
Overseeing the communication portfolio
Providing capacity-building support
Ensuring compliance with branding guidelines
Enhancing the visibility of the KAAP and its donors across supported countries
Increasing visibility of the KAAP-funded projects
Promoting KAAP-funded initiatives
Streamlining communication processes
Providing regular updates to key stakeholders
Capacity Building: Train Program Coordination Office (PCO) and Implementing Partners on communication processes and standards set by the IsDB Communications Team.
Branding and Marking Compliance: Monitor and follow up with PCO in Bangladesh and the KAAP representatives in other countries to ensure that all KAAP-funded assets are branded and marked appropriately.
Reporting Routines:
Remind and follow up with Implementing Partners on submitting monthly communication reports and uploading communication assets to their repository.
Track monthly communication deliverables listed in KAAP Gantt charts for communication plans.
Track upload of comms report and comms assets to KAAP respective repositories.
Content Review and Quality Assurance: Review Implementing Partners’ communication assets to ensure alignment with KAHF/KAAP quality standards, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement as needed.
Information Aggregation: Compile monthly updates, communication assets, and achievements from Implementing Partners into a consolidated, user-friendly report for the KAHF/KAAP Communications Team and folder.
Monthly updates and coordination with Implementing Partners / KAHF Communications lead.
Share regular progress updates, key communication stories, and project assets on a monthly basis.
Respond promptly to KAAP requests for stories, visuals, and other communication materials to support fund-level content.
Facilitate the procurement of local and/or international documentary filmmakers and photographers in consultation with KAAP and PCO, and coordinate shooting schedules in collaboration with technical teams in KAAP and PCO.
Donor’s Field Visit Support: Coordinate communication activities during field visits, ensuring timely and efficient implementation of the KAAP-led communications and visibility plans through close collaboration with KAHF/KAAP.
Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain active communication with Project Specialists at PCO in Bangladesh and KAAP representatives in other countries to address communication-related matters with KAAP.
Quarterly Reporting: Produce and share a comprehensive communication report for all projects under KAAP, summarizing progress, challenges, and recommendations.
Daily Coordination: Engage with KAAP daily when needed to ensure alignment and progress on communication objectives, and for any support requests coming from KAAP.
Quarterly Meetings with KAAP: Conduct quarterly review meetings with KAAP to assess what is working, identify challenges, and make necessary adjustments for the next quarter.
Reporting:
Compile and submit quarterly communication reports to the KAAP.
Prepare an annual communication report summarizing achievements, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement.
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Journalism, Media and Mass Communication or a related field.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Expertise in communication processes, branding, and media engagement.
Proficiency in using tracking tools and creating reports.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. (Arabic is a plus)
Ability to provide constructive feedback and capacity-building support.
Experience in coordinating with diverse stakeholders, including donors, KAAP, and field teams.
Familiarity with development projects and donor-funded programs is a plus.
Timeliness and quality of communication outputs submitted by Implementing Partners.
Consistency and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual communication reports.
Feedback from KAAP Team and PCO and KAAP Representatives at Country Level on collaboration effectiveness.
Visibility and outreach achieved through media and communication initiatives.
